Spring is here ! Please ensure that your child has a  waterproof coat everyday because they go out to play whatever the weather, 2 playtimes plus a lunchtime and they have access to the outdoor learning zone everyday. Sun hats and sun cream, applied at home on sunny mornings please.

Friday Explorers during the spring.

Children should come to school ready to go out and explore. Spring weather varies so please dress your child accordingly.

On cold days

  • vest, long sleeved or thermal top, school sweatshirt, thin fleece, coat.
  • thermal leggings or tights, joggers or leggings.
  • 2 pairs of socks- thin school ones and a thick cosy pair of welly socks.
  • hats and gloves.

On wet days please provide spare socks and trousers as we often go puddle splashing.

On sunny days, sun hats and sun cream. Children will still need long socks, long trousers as we will be exploring woodlands!

Please ensure everything is named. Thank you.

What a fantastic way to finish the term with. all the children loved cooking their marsh mellows and making smores, over the fire and wanted more!!!!! We were all very brave and had a go on the ponies, it was a bit bumpy.

Thank you for a great year in Gruffalo class. The children have been amazing and had lots of fun whilst learning.

What amazing performers we are! Everybody was great at trying something new. we loved doing the show for our parents.
What brilliant performers we were today. We were all a little bit nervous but we had practised hard and we used our big confident voices to say the words we had learnt. We sang our songs with lovely voices and did all the actions. We even remembered all the actions and words to the story of the Hungry Caterpillar Everyone enjoyed the breakfast cookies and smoothies that we had made. Lots of parents and toddlers joined us on our weekly walk. We had a fantastic day. Well done everybody.

What an amazing day we had exploring Dyrham Park. We were all excited to go on the big, yellow coach.

When we arrived we were all starving so we had our snack and then we had a race down the slope  to warm up. Next we went off in search of the deer. We found lots of clues, hoof prints and smooth bark which the deer had scratched off. Eventually ,with very quiet voices, we spotted them. We were so so happy. On the way we had spotted the owl tree and found owl pellets that contained mouse bones and fur!  We went to find a 300 year old tree and tried to see how many children we could fit inside its trunk. Then it was time for one of our favourite activities, rolling down the hill. It made us all very dizzy even Mrs Brennan! We then walked down the hill through the secret gardens before wandering around the formal garden. We were then down at the bottom of the massive hill so we took  the green bus back up to the top. We ate lunch quickly as we were extremely hungry after all that walking. After lunch we had to build the most amazing dens before we headed back to school. On arrival back at school we had birthday cake and played party games before going home, tired and happy with our balloons and party bags.

I would like to thank all the children and parents for making my 50th birthday such a memorable one. Thank you for all my lovely cards, gifts, flowers and voucher for afternoon tea.
