Welcome to India Class!
Our teachers are Mrs Broomfield and
Our TAs are Miss Russell and Mrs Surry
Our mascot is Mamu the monkey.
Mamu means small child and good friend
in an Indian language called Marathi.
When we are star of the week we will be
able to bring Mamu home with us.
Please find below the spelling lists which will be coming home with the children over the next few weeks. They will bring them home on a Monday and be tested on a Friday. This term the words continue to be taken from the "common exception words" lists, which all children are expected to be able to spell. Although many of the words may appear simple, they are words which can't be "sounded out" and are often still spelt incorrectly into Key Stage 2. There will also be some homophones- words which sound the same but have different meanings eg here and hear. The children will need to know their meaning so they write the correct word in the test eg "Can you hear that strange sound?"
They do not need to bring the sheet back into school, it is just to help them practise.
