Children from Great Barrier Reef class recently took part in the Royal Horticultural Society’s ‘Big Soup Share’. Organised by our gardening volunteers, and for the first time supported by donations from the village allotment, namely Glyn Thomas and Bobby and Lyn Collins, the children were able to harvest crops, prep and cook vegetables and serve a delicious vegetable soup, accompanied by homemade bread, to approximately 40 members of the village luncheon club.
Everyone involved had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed their soup and bread. The children particularly enjoyed the pudding, which was provided by the luncheon club. As ever our thanks go to the gardening volunteers who organised this wonderful opportunity for our children to experience.
