After the wonder of being Corsham Cluster Football Champions 2023/2024, Colerne Yr6 went to take on the cream of Wiltshire! All 10 skilful players went with great expectations and high hopes. It was immediately obvious that there some teams were playing at a very high standard but Colerne kept on persevering and came up triumphant in their final match against Tadpole Farm. A huge amount to be proud of and a team who represented the school superbly!

In November we sent a team of hockey experts to take on the might of the Corsham cluster. Many of these children attended the school's hockey after school club and so were at least able to hold the hockey stick the correct way. Fun fact: It is illegal to play hockey left handed - who knew! Following a similar path to their football counterparts, the hockey team set about causing chaos and destruction to all in their path! An unbeaten afternoon followed but best of all the team were continually praised for their manner and kindness to their opposition.

The Y5/6 Girls took part in a football tournament at Wiltshire FA yesterday. 

They started really well and won their first game 2-0, quickly followed by their second game finishing as a draw. Sadly they lost the next 2 games meaning they didn't progress to the Semi finals but the girls all played brilliantly despite the freezing cold temperatures and not forgetting the high winds. They all really got stuck in and gave it their all. This was the first time this group of girls had played together and their team work and determination was exemplary. Great work Girls!
