At Colerne Church of England Primary School, our aim is to prepare all of our children for the next stage in their lives - wherever or whatever that may be!
Welcome!
As a school, we pride ourselves on the supportive and inclusive environment that we have created for all of our children. We strive to provide everything we can for all of our children to ensure they have the best experience possible with us. We want them to be best prepared for their next step in life wherever or whenever that may be.
As the SENDCo for our school, my role is work with our children, staff, parents and outside agencies to ensure that we provide everything we can to support any additional needs. There are a wide range of additional needs that children may have but they will broadly fit into the following 4 areas:
We are extremely fortunate to have a dedicated and experienced team of Teaching Assistants that work with children, parents, myself and outside agencies to ensure that any additional needs are being met. Within this team, we have trained ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistants) who are able to support children with their emotional needs. We are also a Thrive School which means that we routinely assess all of our children to ensure that their emotional needs are being supported.
As a school, we work closely with Educational Psychologists, Behaviour Support Teachers, specialist teachers, Speech and Language Therapists and many other outside agencies to ensure that any additional needs are being met.
If you are a prospective parent and would like any further information, please get in touch. If you are a current parent and would like to discuss anything, we have a very open door policy within our school.
My SENDCo working days are Thursday and Friday. I can be contacted via the main office or by email on senco@colerne.wilts.sch.uk
