On Thursday 30th March, our tenacious tag rugby team took part in the cluster event. Playing against five schools made up of Year 5/6, our year 5 team took the field with real power and pace.
Ruby, Poppy, Reece, Seb, Sonny, JoJo, Freya, Wilf and Billy, won three games. We couldn't be prouder and they kept battling hard right to the very end.
Congratulations
The RockSteady band members put on a fantastic show for the school and Parents on Wednesday. Great work everyone the crowd loved it!
As part of the RHS Campaign for School Gardening, two ‘Big Seed Sow’ sessions were held with children from Portland Bill class on Thursday 23rd March, rather than 27 March-2 April because of Easter Break.
They sowed Giant Single Sunflower, Trailing Nasturtium, Calendula (Pot Marigold), Red and Green Lettuce and Sweet Basil
All these plants are edible 😀 so the children can look forward to tasting them in a couple of months. Hopefully we will have some plants to sell to raise funds for school gardening as well.
Thanks to Christine Rogers and Janet Priest for leading these sessions with the children.
We are super proud of Henry, Jacob and Mia who represented Colerne Church of England Primary School on Thursday 23rd March at The Corsham School Playground Games event. We think they all look marvellous in their school tops! Well done to you all.
The GlamoRose Cake Stall will be back in the school playground on Friday 24th March, when you will be able to purchase one of their sweet treats to celebrate the end of another busy week! 10% of any profit made will be going to FRESCO to help provide fun extra curricular activities for our child.
Our Eco-council meet regularly to discuss ways in which the staff, children and parents of our school can work together to help protect the environment, and more specifically our beautiful surroundings. One of the newest initiatives they have implemented is the recycling of used pens. As a school we get through a lot, so we are really pleased to be able to start this, especially as it will also raise funds for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance! Every class has a recycling box, which will be emptied once a term and taken to the recycling point in Chippenham. Please feel free to get your child to bring in your used pens from home to support this.

The children have all dressed fantastically as I'm sure you will agree for world book day this year. Thank you all parents for the brilliant outfits. The school has been a hive of excitement and fun today surrounded by all their favourite characters. More pictures can be found in the school gallery on the "Childrens" page.
